Heating and cooling our homes, lighting office buildings, driving cars and moving freight, and manufacturing the products for all this we rely on energy in our daily lives. Energy plays an important role in our daily ife. It is also needed for household work, to operate an ofice, to run medical equipment in hospitals, to run industries etc. For this reason energy has become one of the essential parts of human life. Developed countries consume more energy. That's why energy development is related to human peace and prosperity and economic development.

17.What is civil duty? Explain any five civil duty in brief.
 A civic duty is a legal obligation for citizens, or in other words, it is something that citizens must do as required by law.
five civil duty are:
Respecting and obeying the laws: Everybody is equal in the eycs of law. The law treats its citizen equally. The Government formulates certain rules
by confoming within the boundaries of the law. It is the duty of the citizens to obey the rules and laws of the country.

Use of voting right: A right to vote comes with the responsibility to vote in election. Suitable representative should be sent to the legislatures for the development of the country. A wrong vote may result in bad government. That's why it is the duty of the citizens to vote for the right candidate responsibly.

Assisting in the functions of the Government: It is the duty of every citizen to lend a hand of co-operation to public_ officials in the discharge of their duties. Every citizen should try to eradicate corruption and social crime from the society by offering help to the officials concerhéd. Since the leaders are chosen by the people's vote it becomes the people's responsibility to assist the government.

To pay taxes: The administration of a country involves a certain amount of expenditure. This expenditure cannot be met without raising certain taxes. The government collects tax from the people and the accumulated amount is used for the developmental process of the country. Hence it is the duty of the citizens to pay tax to the goyernment on time. It is in their own interest, therefore, they should willingfy and honestly pay the taxes levied by the government.

To participate in the developmental program: It is the duty of the citizen to identify the necessity of development in the local level, in the areas like education, health, drinking water, clectricity, road construction, etc. They should make the government understand these needs through their selected répresentatives. A good citizen will participate in the development programs through various means.

19.What are the main element of population change ? Explain in brief.

Birth, Death and Migration the main element of population change.

a) Birth or fertility rate: The birth or fertility rate is infiuenced by the composition ofpopulation by age, mariagcable age, cducation, occupation, religious status, nutrition and health. The fecundity, infant mortality rate, life expectancy, the political situation of the country, the social status of the patents cte also affect the birth or fertility rate. The birth or fertility rate of least developed countries is mainly influenced by the composition of population by age, early marriage and illiteracy.

b) Death or mortality rate: The factor determining the population change next to birth is death. There are many elements that affect the death or mortality rate. The major factors that affect the death or mortality rate are: composition of population, facility of health care, occupation and nature of the work, region of the settlement, age, malnutrition, discases etc. The mortality rate is decreasing nowadays in the least developed countries in comparison to the past. Some of the reasons of decreasing death rate in the developing and least developed countries are: growth in the income, improvement in the medical treatment, the expansion of the public health and education etc.


c) Migration or migration rate: It is considered as the most complex demographic process. There are two kinds of elements that affect migration. They are studied as pull factors and push factors. The process of coming in from the outside is called in-migration and the process of going out from the inside is called out-migration in the migration.
